چکیده
Abstract This paper discusses the effect of road pricing on spatial distribution traffic flow. The flow density is derived for a circular city with radial-arc network. describes amount as function position and allows us to identify location potential congestion areas. analytical expression demonstrates how size toll area level affect As increases, decrease in inside becomes smaller. increase at boundary greater. travel cost also examined. These findings can be used determine required achieve certain congestion.

spatial development of urban road network traffic gridlock
abstract: gridlock is an extreme traffic state where vehicle cannot move at all. this research studies the development of gridlock by theoretical and numerical analysis. it is shown that the development of gridlock can be divided into several stages. the core of the development is the evolution of congestion loop. a congestion loop is comprised of a number of consecutively connected spillover l...
متن کاملBi-Objective Network Equilibrium, Traffic Assignment and Road Pricing
Multi-objective equilibrium models of traffic assignment state that users of road networks travel on routes that are efficient with respect to several objectives, such as travel time and toll. This concept provides a general framework for modelling traffic flow in tolled road networks. We present the concept of time surplus maximisation as a way of handling user preferences. Given a toll, users...
متن کاملRoad Network Optimization for Increasing Traffic Flow
In the traffic flow on the city road network, it is observed that a new additional road, which is constructed for overcoming the traffic jam, causes more terrible traffic jam. This is well known as Braess’s paradox. Recently, it is pointed out that Braess’s paradox depends on the traffic density and the paradox disappears at high traffic density. The aim of this study is to describe the algorit...
متن کاملTraffic Flow on a Road Network
This paper is concerned with a fluidodynamic model for traffic flow. More precisely, we consider a single conservation law, deduced from conservation of the number of cars, defined on a road network that is a collection of roads with junctions. The evolution problem is underdetermined at junctions, hence we choose to have some fixed rules for the distribution of traffic plus an optimization cri...
متن کاملTraffic Flow Modelling on the Road Network in the Cities
Original scientific paper Planning of road transport infrastructure is a complex process. One of the major issues is determining the design elements of road infrastructure (road type and number of traffic lanes, cross-sectional profile, etc.). When designing roads, parameters from the international literature are used, containing values derived empirically from local data on traffic flow (mostl...
